MLS football outfit Atlanta United are closing in on the signing of an experienced Argentine striker as the club tries to back new manager Gabriel Heinze with the new players ahead of the 2021 season in MLS football. Lisandro Lopez is an experienced Argentine attacker and he’s still going strong at top level football at the age of 37.Atlanta United are set to bolster their squad with the player according to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo.
It was revealed by the journalist on Monday night that Atlanta United are set to add Lisandro Lopez to their team ahead of the 2021 MLS football season. It was revealed that the experienced player will announce the decision to join the MLS football club in the coming hours.
Lisandro Lopez will leave Racing club in his native Argentina to join Atlanta United in the MLS (Major League Soccer) and the move won’t require Atlanta United to pay any transfer fee for him according to reports. Lisandro Lopez would fill the role currently played by Adam Jahn in the Atlanta United team if his transfer proved to be successful at the end of the day.
It was also revealed that his arrival won’t necessary lead to exit of Adam Jahn. Lisandro Lopez is still active as a professional player despite his age but it might be too much for him to fill the boots of star player Josef Martinez if the Venezuelan player is missing for Atlanta United. Considering his age, Lisandro Lopez would be a good option for MLS club Atlanta United off the bench. Lisandro Lopez is an experienced striker who has played in countries like France, Portugal and many more. The striker has 244 career goals in addition to a record of one goal in seven caps for his country Argentina.
