New England Revolution will look to register their first win of this season when they host the Chicago Fire on Saturday. The visitors also started the new campaign with a loss away from home. Squad from Boston was unsuccessful against Illinois representative in the last five official matches, winning just one encounter.
The New England Revolution lost their opening match of the 2020 MLS season as they were beaten 2-1 away from home by Thierry Henry’s Montreal Impact. Bruce Arena’s side started the match on the front foot as they took a first half lead through Teal Bunbury.
Impact got the equalizer in the 37th minute when Romell Quioto met a good ball from Joel Waterman. The first half ended 1-1. The two sides had the opportunity to take the lead in the second half, but it was Impact who got the winning goal in the 80th minute. Maximiliano Nicolas Urruti scored the winner handing all three points to Montreal Impact.
Chicago fire also lost their opening match of the season. They were beaten 2-1 away from home by Seattle Sounders. Seattle came from behind to take all three points. After a goal was first half draw, the visitors opened the scoring immediately after the restart through Robert Beric. Christian Roldan equalized 10 minutes later for Seattle before Jordan Morris scored the winning goals for Brian Schmetzer’s side just after the hour mark of the game.
The two sides will be looking to get their season on the way with a win this weekend. Seattle and Chicago fire have 28 wins apiece after facing each other 70 times.
