Kenny Walker was one of the positive aspects for LA Galaxy from their recent match against FC Dallas. The midfielder was outstanding in all areas of the game against the opposition, as LA Galaxy secured a 2-1 win. This result was extremely important for the team considering that they were going on a poor run of form, which had seen them win no matches in the last four. As result, even the prospect of getting into the play-offs has been put under major doubt. Now, the team will be looking to getting back to a consistent winning run after this victory.
Club captain Robbie Keane said after the match that everyone could see Walker in such impressive fashion, which is a surprise given that he has played little football in the last two years. Manager Bruce Arena decide to employ the midfielder as a holding man, which allowed Juninho to go forward and join in the attack. Walker was not only impressive at cutting down the attacks of the opposition, but he was also very good at starting at their own attacks as well.
Apart from playing a couple of matches for the LA Galaxy reserve team, Walker has had little football in the last two years. Despite this, he was able to provide this incredible performance.
“I thought Kenney Walker was outstanding tonight. Simple but very, very effective, the way he played. We talked about simple passes, and at times he’s taking three or four people out of the game. That’s how he played, and that’s how the best players in the world play. They play very, very simple, but it’s so effective. To be fair, in training, he’s been knocking on the door. He’s been looking good in training, the way he’s been playing,” said Keane about the midfielder.
